ODOT report – Wednesday, April 24 and ending Friday, May 10 – WALTON- Travelers should expect 20 minute delays, 24-hours a day on OR 126W Florence-Eugene Highway west of Walton beginning Wednesday, April 24 at 6 a.m. until Friday, May 10 at noon – including weekends. Flaggers and a pilot car are directing traffic through the mile long work zone where a westbound passing lane is being added between Walker Creek and Chickahominy Creek. Crews are taking advantage of a good weather window to get key portions of the work done before summer traffic picks up, including paving sections of the area. After the 24-hour flagging is complete, the work zone will be smaller, the overall project done sooner, and the remaining work zone will be safer for travelers when both lanes are open.
