CBPD release – In January the Coos Bay Police Department arrested 5 drivers for DUII. All 5 arrests were made during regular patrols. Of the 5 arrests, 2 were alcohol related DUII arrests and 3 arrests were of drug impaired drivers. On January 12th the Coos Bay Police Department participated in a random DUII enforcement operation. Although there were no DUII arrests made during the operation, two subjects that fled from a traffic stop were apprehended and transported to jail. The passenger who fled on foot was charged with a probation violation and interfering with police. The driver who fled the stop in her vehicle was taken into custody for probation violation and felony elude. DUII enforcement operations are sponsored by Oregon Impact and ODOT. The Coos Bay Police Department will have additional officers out periodically throughout the month of February for DUII enforcement.
