On September 30, 2017 at approximately 7:30 AM, Oregon State Police Troopers responded to a call of someone shooting at cars on Interstate 5 near the Oregon-California border at mile post 1 in Jackson County. Additional information was learned and the Jackson County Major Assault Death Investigation Unit (MADIU) was activated. MADIU is comprised of State, County and Local law enforcement agencies. At this time there is no information to be released as this is an active investigation.
