North Coos Waterfront needed one win out of an American Legion doubleheader with Roseburg Pepsi Wednesday at Clyde Allen Field to clinch second place in the ‘A’ Area North League Standings and to clinch a spot in the upcoming state tournament. Roseburg Pepsi took the first game 5-3, but the nightcap went extra innings (8), with North Coos prevailing 13-12. The Waterfront is scheduled to conclude the regular season with a non-league DH at North Medford on Friday. The final league standings have Roseburg Pepsi in first (19-5, 21-7), followed by North Coos (16-8, 24-9-1). South Coos, in their first season, is 1-21.
