On February 8, 2018 at about 10:50PM, Lincoln City Police Officers responded to a reported assault at 5024 SE Keel Ave, in Lincoln City. Officers found 39 year old Nathan C. Opperud of Lincoln City bleeding profusely from a head wound. Officers immediately administered first aid until Pacific West Ambulance arrived on scene. Opperud was transported to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital and then transferred in critical condition to Emanuel Hospital in Portland. It is reported Opperud is now in stable condition. A suspect in the assault was identified as 33 year old Abraham M. Kollert, of Lincoln City. Kollert was located a short time later and was arrested. Kollert has been lodged in the Lincoln County Jail, currently charged with Assault in the First Degree.
