Pleasant Valley Ln., CCSO release – On July 18, 2019, at about 8:51 PM, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Pleasant Valley Lane in Myrtle Point in response to a disturbance. Upon arrival, it was learned 29 year old Shawna Schaeffer had deployed pepper spray into the face of her step-father and then fled the scene on foot. Sergeant Adam Slater of the Coos County Sheriff’s Office and his K9 partner Odin were deployed in the area and Schaeffer was located by K9 Odin. Schaeffer was placed into custody without incident. Through the course of the investigation it was learned that Schaeffer had entered the home of her mother and stepfather and had engaged in a verbal altercation with her mother. Schaeffer’s step father told Schaeffer to leave. When he attempted to close the door after her, she deployed pepper spray into his face and then fled the scene. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Myrtle Point Police Department. This capture marks Odin’s 85th career find.
