On Friday, December 22, 2017, a 9-1-1 call was received reporting an elderly female who had been assaulted at her home in the 10000-block of South Umpqua Road in Tiller. Deputies and EMS personnel responded to the scene and learned the 94 year-old victim, Agness Campbell, was suffering from a head injury. She was transported to an undisclosed hospital by air ambulance for treatment of her injuries. Deputies learned that Campbell’s granddaughter had received a call from 54 year-old Leta Allen of Tiller. Allen told the granddaughter that Campbell had been assaulted by an unknown male. After conducting an investigation, deputies determined Allen to be responsible for the assault. She was ultimately arrested and lodged in the Douglas County Jail on a charge of Assault II.
