News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 11-23-14 at approximately 2:12 PM Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies working ONDRA (Sand Dune Patrol) attempted to stop a 2000 Honda CR500 motorcycle in the Spinreel area of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation area. The motorcycle operator attempted to elude the deputies traveling at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle traveled down multiple roads and trails attempting to get away. The motorcycle was eventually stopped on Hauser Depot RD, Hauser. The operator of the motorcycle was identified as 20 year old Coos Bay resident, Scotty Allen. Mr. Allen was arrested for Felony Attempt to Elude. Mr. Allen also received citations for operating a motorcycle without a rider safety card, operation without OHV registration and operating without a required flag. Mr. Allen was transported to the Coos County Jail. Allen’s motorcycle was impounded.
