A project to place netting material, designed to keep birds from nesting beneath the concrete spans of the Siuslaw River Bridge, will restrict travel across the bridge to a single lane. Beginning Monday, January 26, 2015 and continuing through Thursday, January 29, a snooper crane will be located in one lane of traffic on the bridge, allowing staff to work beneath the deck. The work will be conducted between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. During that time, traffic across the bridge will be controlled by flaggers. Travelers should expect delays no longer than 20 minutes. The bird abatement project is timed to prevent seasonal nesting that might interfere with a bridge rehabilitation project scheduled for construction later this year.
