A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded near the southern junction of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast on Friday, July 13.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located northwest of Ferndale, CA near Cape Mendocino.  On Saturday, July 14, a 2.5-magnitude quake was recorded in the same area, just west of Ferndale, CA.  On Monday, July 16, a 2.5-magnitude quake occurred in the same area, but west to northwest of Petrolia, CA.
