Failure to Register
Fairview Rd., CCSO release – On August 16, 2018, at about 2:06 pm, the Coos County Public Safety Answering Point in Coquille received an anonymous report that 39-year old Jesse Chamley, Myrtle Pt., was operating a motor vehicle in the vicinity of Milky Way Feed and Farm Supply off of Fairview Road in violation of Oregon law as his driving privileges are suspended in the state of Oregon. A Coquille Police Officer and deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to search for Chamley. The vehicle was located in the area but it was stationary. The vehicle associated with the original call was seen leaving the area with a woman driver and another vehicle was observed heading the opposite direction with a driver matching Chamley’s description. A Deputy was sitting on a nearby BLM road and observed the Ford go by him at a high rate of speed. The deputy observed the vehicle cross the center line and stopped it for Fail to Drive in Lane. The operator was identified as Jesse Chamley. While the Deputy was writing the citation, drug detection K9 “Sophie” of the Coquille Police Department and her handler Officer Orrin Wallace responded and conducted an open air search of the vehicle to which Sophie indicated a positive response for the presence of narcotics. A quantity of suspected methamphetamine was located inside of the vehicle. Meanwhile, the investigation revealed Chamley had not registered as a sex offender since January of 2017 and again failed to register since he had been arrested for the same offense in July of 2018. Chamley was arrested for Fail to Register as a Sex Offender. The suspected drugs were seized and will be forwarded to the Oregon State Police Crime Lab for testing by the Coquille Police Department. Chamley was cited for Driving While Suspended. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Coquille Police Department.

Domestic Assault
Harmony Rd., CCSO release – On August 18, 2018 at approximately 6:54 pm, the Coos County Public Safety Answering Point in Coquille received an incomplete 911 call from a woman requesting help at 64413 Harmony Road, Coos Bay. When Deputies arrived at the scene a man was shouting. As the deputies were approaching on foot to the home the man, identified as 41-year old William Sandusky, North Bend, cried out “she hit me first!” Sandusky then told the juvenile not to open the gate of the property due to a posted “No Trespassing” sign. A woman appeared from the residence asking for help. It was discovered there had been a verbal altercation, which had then escalated into physical violence between the man and woman. The investigation was conducted, with Sandusky saying the woman, identified as his girlfriend, had started the fight and “roughed him up.” Sandusky said his girlfriend got him into a “scissor leg lock” and then he kicked the microwave and broke out a window. It was further learned Sandusky had thrown a 2 liter soda bottle at the woman, striking her in the head after the argument over a cell phone had begun. The woman had wanted to use the cell phone for set up a visit wither daughter. The fight began in a vehicle and ended inside the home. Sandusky had also struck her in the head with his hand. After an investigation, the woman was evaluated on scene by Bay Area Ambulance medical personnel and ultimately transported to Bay Area Hospital for further assessment of her sustained injuries. She had injuries to her head, and cuts on her ankle from a plate being thrown at her. Subsequently, due to Sandusky and woman being involved in an intimate relationship, Sandusky was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail for Domestic Assault in the Fourth Degree where he remains in custody. His bail is set at $10,000.

Warrant
Parsonage Lane, CCSO release – On August 16, 2018 at approximately 5:45 pm, a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to 94862 Parsonage Lane, Myrtle Point, Coos County, Oregon. It was reported threats were being made by a neighbor. These threats involved killing someone for killing his dog. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that subject making threats, 52-year old Lonnie W. Gates, Broadbent, had an active warrant for methamphetamine possession out of Douglas County. After the warrant was confirmed through Douglas County, Gates was placed under arrest without incident. Lonnie W. Gates was transported and lodged at the Coos County Jail where he remains.

Warrant
Bunker Hill, CCSO release – On August 16, 2018 at approximately 8:16 pm, a Coos County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the Bunker Hill area when he saw a man walking in the middle of the street causing traffic to halt in order not to strike him. The Deputy contacted the subject on Highway 101 and Barry Street in Coos Bay. The man identified himself as Robert E. Holcomb. The Deputy confirmed this by matching him with his picture on his Oregon identification card. During the course of the contact, it was discovered that 66-year old Robert E. Holcomb, transient, had an active warrant out of Jackson County for failing to register as a sex offender. After the warrant was confirmed through Jackson County, Holcomb was placed under arrest without incident. Robert E. Holcomb was transported and lodged at the Coos County Jail where he remains at this time.
