Warrant Arrest
Cape Arago Hwy., CCSO release – On 08/30/2018, at approximately 12:11 am, Coos County Sheriff’s Office Deputies stopped a motor home on Cape Arago Highway near Wildahl Lane in the Barview district of Coos Bay for expired registration. While speaking with the driver, it was determined there was other occupants in the motor home. The Deputies investigated the other occupants and spoke with 30-year old Chris Meredith, Coos Bay, and 28-year old Jiahston Jones, transient of Coos Bay. During the investigation their names were checked through a state and national computer base. The Deputies were advised Chris had a state wide felony warrant out of Linn County, Oregon for Possession of a Controlled Substance- Methamphetamine. They were further advised Jiahston had a state wide municipal warrant out of Salem for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants. Both Jiahston and Chris were arrested for their warrants. The driver of the motor home was cited for numerous violations. Jones and Meredith were transported to the Coos County Jail. Meredith was held in custody without bail. Jones was released per the Salem Municipal Court to appear at a later date.
