Powers Burglar Arrested
CCSO news release. On 1/23/2018 at about 1:00 PM a female reported to 911 a male intruder in her home located at 554 2nd Street, Powers, Oregon. Currently, the city of Powers does not have a police department due to retirement and the Coos County Sheriff’s Office is handling emergent calls inside the city limits as the Powers city government seeks a police officer. Deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office responded to the city. The investigation conducted by deputies on scene determined that Randy Warren (48 years old from Powers) had unlawfully entered the home, causing extensive damage to the inside of the house, and had taken a firearm from inside of the house. The firearm was later recovered by deputies on scene. The dollar amount of the damage inside the home is not known but is expected to be well above $500.00. Based on the investigation Randy Warren was arrested by deputies and transported to the Coos County Jail for the following charges: Burglary I: For entering a residential dwelling with the intent to cause damage and remove property from within without legal right to do so. Theft I: For unlawfully taking a firearm from the residence. Criminal Mischief II: For causing extensive damage to the inside of the house and to personal property belonging to another and without a legal right to do so. Criminal Trespass I: For entering the house a second time dropping the firearm into the kitchen before fleeing on foot. Randy Warren was booked into and held at the Coos County Jail. The case will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney for charging.
Assault on Police Officer
CCSO news release. On January 23rd, 2018 at 11:45 pm, Deputies and Oregon State Police Troopers responded to the area of Robertson Lane and Cape Arago Highway in Coos Bay, Oregon for a report of an Assault and Criminal Trespass occurring there. Upon arrival on scene, Troopers and Deputies contacted Deanna F. Solinger. While they were talking with Deanna F. Solinger, Deputies had to escort Deanna F. Solinger out of the roadway multiple times as she was causing a traffic hazard and a danger to herself. After conducting an investigation, it was determined no assault or criminal trespass had occurred. Deputies and Troopers broke contact with Deanna F. Solinger. At 11:53 pm, deputies were traveling on Cape Arago Highway when they saw Deanna F. Solinger walking south bound in the middle of the North bound lane of travel obviously crea6ting a traffic hazard and endangering herself. The weather conditions were terrible and Deanna’s lack of compliance to stay out of the roadway caused her to be arrested for disorderly conduct. While the Deputies were attempting to conduct a cursory search prior to transporting to the jail, Deanna F. Solinger began to kick at them. In this kicking spree she struck a Reserve Deputy in the leg. The Reserve Deputy did not require any treatment from the kick. Deanna F. Solinger was transported to the Coos County Jail and lodged for Assault on a Public Safety Officer and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree. Deanna’s bail was set at $30,000. She was released on her own recognizance.
