Burglary Arrest
Laird Ln., MP, CCSO release – On June 2, 2019 at 4:53 p.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office initiated a burglary and vehicle theft case at 98924 Laird Lane, in Myrtle Point. The homeowner advised a subject known to them had unlawfully entered their home and removed keys to a 2014 passenger car while they were sleeping. Upon awakening it was determined the automobile had been removed. The caller had spoken to others prior to calling the Sheriff’s Office. The Dispatch center learned 58 year old David Dennis Steinhoff Myrtle Point had been seen in custody and control of the automobile in Coquille, around 0900 hours. After taking the report, a Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle in question parked on a rural road within a mile of the victim’s home. David Dennis Steinhoff was located asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle and was taken into custody. Mr. Steinhoff was transported to the Coos County Jail and lodged, no bail was listed.
