Domestic Harassment
Cape Arago Hwy., CCSO release.  On March 20th, 2018 at 10:00 pm, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call for a Domestic Assault. The victim told the Coos County Sheriff’s Office dispatcher that the suspect, 59-year old Don C. Alatalo, Coos Bay, had attempted to strike her numerous times in the face. The victim also told the dispatch center she had gotten away from him, by going to her neighbors. Upon the deputy’s arrival, it was discovered during the investigation that Don Alatalo had become belligerently intoxicated due to drinking a majority of the day. Don Alatalo had yelled at the victim most of the night. The victim attempted to go to bed to get away from Don Alatalo but he then attempted to strike the victim in the face. The victim was able to block both of the strikes by using her arms. Don C. Alatalo was taken into custody for Domestic Harassment. Don C. Alatalo was transported to the Coos County Jail without further incident. Don’s C. Alatalo’s bail was set at $5,000.00.

Probation Violation
Olive Barber Rd., CCSO release. On March 20th, 2018 at 1745 hours, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office received information that 29-year old Kory B. Dawson, Coos Bay, was staying at 62304 Olive Barber Road, Coos Bay, Coos County, Oregon. Kory B. Dawson was a Coos County Corrections Client and was on the detainable list. Deputy’s contacted Kory B. Dawson at the residence where he was taken into custody. During a cursory search of Kory B. Dawson’s person, suspected narcotics were located. Kory B. Dawson was transported to the Coos County Jail without further incident. Kory B. Dawson was booked and lodged for a Probation Violation. The suspected narcotics are being sent to the Oregon State Police Crime Lab. Kory B. Dawson will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office for Possession of Methamphetamine. Kory B. Dawson was held at the Coos County Jail without bail.
