News release CCSO. On 09/12/2017, Deputies responded to a report of an assault that occurred at 91742 Cape Arago Highway. During a course of the investigation Deputies were advised that Shawn Boyer and her husband of 17 years had been drinking most of the day. Shawn and her husband got into an argument over cigarette tobacco. During the argument, Shawn struck her husband several times in the face, causing some injuries. No medical assistance was needed though he had a bloody lip. Although the physical altercation had been mutual, it was determined Shawn Boyer was the aggressor. In determining this, and under Oregon’s long standing domestic abuse law, Shawn Boyer was arrested for Domestic Harassment and transported to the Coos County Jail. Shawn was held on a bail of $5000.00. Boyer was released the next morning at about 7:30 am overcrowding at the jail.
