The Coos County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in a statewide Seatbelt Safety Blitz this Labor Day weekend. Beginning on Thursday August 31, 2017 and continuing through the Labor Day holiday extra patrols of deputy sheriffs will be on the back roads and highways of Coos County enforcing seatbelt violations. The Sheriff’s Office wishes to remind the public to slow down as this last holiday weekend of the summer proceeds. There will the draw of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, local attractions, and most importantly, fire personnel going to and returning from the Chetco Bar Fire in Curry County and the Horse Prairie Fire in Douglas County clogging our roads. Stay safe on our roads and Buckle Up!
