Lake Ck. Drainage,CCSO release – Victim(s): Cameron Sullivan, 24 years old of Tenmile. On September 21, 2019 at approximately 12:44 pm, a male subject made a 911 phone call stating he was lost in the woods but was not certain where he was. Using 911 GPS information from his call, Deputies from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and Winston Police Department, located Cameron Sullivan on Weyerhaeuser property in the Lake Creek Drainage near Bone Mountain. Sullivan was laying in steep and rugged terrain on a hillside. There was no clear access to Sullivan, but Deputies were able to communicate with him by yelling back and forth. It was determined that Sullivan was injured and could not hike out on his own. Coos County Search and Rescue teams were activated and responded to the scene. The US Coast Guard was also contacted for assistance with aircraft and agreed to respond to assist. Bridge Fire, Myrtle Point Fire and Myrtle Point Ambulance also responded to assist. A Coos County Deputy along with Myrtle Point Ambulance personnel hiked to Sullivan’s location to assess his medical condition. A US Coast Guard helicopter arrived and was able to extract Sullivan from the hillside. Sullivan was transported to Roseburg by the Coast Guard helicopter.
