It’s been nine years in the making, but the 6,000 square foot, two-story, Charleston Marine Life Center is finally open and officials and supporters believe it is a great addition to the visitor’s attractions on the South Oregon Coast. A grand opening was held Saturday, May 21, and hundreds took the opportunity to tour the new facility near the Oregon Institute of Marine Biology. Five different marine exhibits are offered for view, including a “touch tank” and underwater videos. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday and admission is $5 adults, $4 seniors and children are free as well as University of Oregon students.
