Detectives have made an arrest in a child sex abuse case. On December 19, 2017, deputies took a report of a possible sex abuse involving a minor child. On Tuesday, December 26th, detectives from the Sheriff’s Office took over the investigation and learned the child had been assaulted by a male known to the child. The investigation continued. On January 12, 2018, detectives, with assistance from the Oregon State Police, arrested 48 year-old George Ervin Ray of Glendale on child sex crimes. He was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on two charges of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree and two charges Sexual Penetration in the First Degree.
