News release CCSO. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office will be holding a Coffee with a Cop event in Charleston this coming Monday morning on October 2, 2017. The event, from 9:00 am until at least 11:00 am will be held at Bayside Coffee which is located at 63340 Boat Basin Road Charleston. The public is very much welcomed at this event. Coffee with a Cop is a nationwide program which began in Hawthorne, California as a way for police officers to meet with members of the public over a cup of java. There is no agenda, no speeches, and no itinerary for this event. Members of the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, representing patrol, the jail and dispatch, will be there to engage in conversation with members of the public who wish to come and meet. House coffee will be served free of charge at this event. This is the first such event the Coos County Sheriff’s Office has been a part of the Coffee with a Cop program.
