CBFD news release. On the afternoon of March 19, 2018, the Coos Bay Fire Department responded to an alarm at the Coos Bay Public Library. Fire personnel contained a fire to the interior men’s restroom, although the main part of the library had a heavy smoke odor. Fire personnel aired the building after the incident, and additional fire remediation cleaning will occur over the next few days. The library will resume regular hours with some spaces restricted to the public during remediation. The City of Coos Bay is looking for any and all leads regarding the persons involved.
