The 106th Annual Coos County Fair opens its gates Tuesday morning, July 24 for five days of 4-H livestock, rodeo, carnival, and fun at the Fairgrounds in Myrtle Point.  The opening ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m.  “Cowboys, Rides and Apple Pies” is the theme of this year’s Fair and Dennis & Janet Beetham are serving as the Grand Marshalls, while Abby Dieu is the 2018 Fair & Rodeo Queen.  Clara Potter is the Fair & Rodeo Jr. Princess.  Senior Day (half-price admission for those 60+) is Wednesday, July 25, and Kids Day (half-price admission 6-17 all day) is Thursday, July 26.  Patriot Day, where all active Military & Veterans are admitted at half-price all day is Friday, July 27.  The Open Rodeo takes place Friday & Saturday nights, 7 p.m.  The annual Fair Parade through downtown Myrtle Pt. is Saturday, July 28, 10 a.m.  The annual 4-H & FFA Livestock Auction takes place on Saturday, July 28, 1 p.m.  For more information, go to the Fair’s website:  www.cooscountyfair.com
