Credit Card Fraud
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On August 18, 2015, Dispatch advised of a credit card that had been used at several business’s in the Coos Bay and North Bend area of Coos County Oregon. Deputies responded to a number of the businesses to investigate the crimes and developed Troy Clawson as a suspect. The deputies were provided with videos of Clawson perpetrating the crimes. Clawson was later interviewed and it was determined that he had used the stolen credit card. Clawson was arrested and lodged in the Coos County Jail.
ATV Fatal within ODNRA
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 08-18-15 at about 1530 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Office along with Hauser Fire and Rescue, United States Coast Guard and Bay Cities Ambulance responded to an ATV crash. The crash was located in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, near Horsfall. While en-route to the accident, Coos County 911 center advised the victim needed immediate care and that CPR had been started. A short time later 911 advised two U.S. Coast Guard medics where on scene and continuing CPR. When ground personnel arrived they found the victim Lucien Imbodien (27YOA) of Shoreline Washington. Mr. Imbodien was unresponsive and CPR was continued until he was pronounced deceased. The crash was the result of a motorcycle and Rock crawler type vehicle hitting head on. The Rock crawler was headed South on the dunes near No Name Hill. The Motorcycle had come back North on the high side on the Hill. Both drivers saw each other and attempted to swerve. Both drivers unfortunately turned the same direction hitting head on. The Driver of the Rock crawler was identified as Justin Mattson (27YOA) from Lake Stevens Washington. The Coos County Crash Team was activated and the case is still under investigation.
