Rape Charge
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On 5-17-15 at 0030 hours the Coos County Sheriff’s Office began a sexual assault investigation of a 21 year old female. The incident occurred in a home located at 14658 Hwy 42, Myrtle Point, Oregon. As a result of investigating the incident, Deputies arrested Steven P. Williamson 40 YOA of Myrtle Point, Oregon. Mr. Williamson was charged with Rape I, Sodomy I, Sex Abuse I and Unlawful Sexual Penetration I. Mr. Williamson was lodged at the Coos County Jail and his bail was listed at $170,000.00. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Myrtle Point Police Department.

Burglary & Stolen Vehicle
News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On May 18, 2015, at about 1332 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 88716 Highway 42S in Bandon for a report of suspicious circumstances. It was reported that a power company employee had observed a male in the driveway of that residence and then moments later found the male gone and a large amount of property from the residence stacked up in the driveway. The power company employee then called police. When Deputies arrived, they found property from an unattached shed stacked on a trailer. It was evident the entire residence had been gone through due to the condition of the residence. Deputies also found evidence that the person(s) responsible for the crime had attempted to set fire to the home. Through the course of the investigation, it was learned a 2003 Jeep Liberty, gold in color, with an Oregon license plate of ZTA362 had been stolen from the residence. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating this vehicle. If the vehicle is located, please call 911, or 541-396-2106 to contact the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch. Please, do not attempt to confront, or contact anyone in the vehicle, as it is believed firearms had been taken during the crime. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Oregon State Police and the Oregon State Fire Marshall’s Office. The investigation is continuing.
