Oregon State Police (OSP), with the assistance of the Coos County Medical Examiner and the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, is completing an investigation into the death of a Nevada man. He was found deceased Wednesday near his vehicle, at the ODOT wayside along Highway 101, at milepost 230. The initial investigation indicates that the death is from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. On July 20, 2016, at approximately 6:24 p.m., an OSP Trooper stopped to check a 2015 Jeep Patriot parked at the a wayside between Lakeside and North Bend along Highway 101, at milepost 230. The Trooper reported discovering a deceased adult male sitting in a folding chair adjacent to his vehicle. The deceased was identified as Mason Larue GEBE, age 75, from Las Vegas, Nevada.
