CCSO release – Wednesday, 7-24-19 at about 3:40 PM, a Coos County Deputy was involved in a crash on Highway 42 near Roderick Rd. The investigation is being conducted by the Oregon State Police, and as such, we are unable to comment at this time on the status of the investigation, or the outcome. Unfortunately, we also don’t have a definitive timeline of when the investigation will be completed. According to reports, 69-year old Barbara Ellen Ross, North Bend, was eastbound an attempting to turn left onto Roderick Road. Her Nissan Sentra was struck from behind by a CCSO Ford SUV operated by 26-year old Deputy Zachary Olander. Both were transported to Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay with serious but non-lifethreatening injuries. The Oregon State Police are investigating the accident.
