The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality announced March 4 the extension of the public comment period on the proposed Jordan Cove Energy Project’s Standard Air Contaminant Discharge Permit by 30 days to April 3, 2015. On Jan. 15, DEQ published a public hearing notice for the draft air quality permit, known officially as an Air Contaminent Discharge Permit. At that time, DEQ announced a 49-day public comment period that would end on March 4. DEQ received several requests to extend the comment period. In response to those requests, DEQ extended the comment period until 5 p.m. on April 3.
