Oregon and Georgia will open the 2022 season in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022. “We are excited at the opportunity to play a high-quality opponent such as Georgia as well as to open the season in an incredible venue in Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta,” said Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens. “This invitation is reflective of the brand and reputation of the Oregon football program, and we look forward to the chance for our student-athletes to participate in this prestigious event to open the 2022 season.” The Ducks and Bulldogs have played once in the history of the programs, with Georgia winning 27-16 in the 1977 season-opener in Athens, Ga. The Bulldogs led the Ducks by a field goal at the half before UGA outscored the Ducks 18-10 in the second half.
