The Oregon women’s basketball program has signed guard Sabrina Ionescu to its 2016 recruiting class, head coach Kelly Graves announced Sunday. Ionescu is one of the top players in the country and the highest rated recruit to ever sign with the Ducks. The 6-foot guard is the No. 4 ranked recruit in the nation by ESPNW. The Miramonte HS graduate was named the USA Today national player of the year after also being selected the McDonald’s All-America game MVP, where she scored a record 25 points to go with 10 rebounds and seven three-pointers. Ionescu led Miramonte HS to the CIF state open division championship game, averaging 25.3 points, 8.8 assists, 7.6 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 1.3 blocks per game as a senior. She has won gold medals with team USA at the U16 FIBA Americas Championship and the U17 FIBA World Championships.
