Cape Arago Hwy., CCSO release – On July 21, 2019, at about 0004 hours, a Deputy from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle being operated by 27 year old William Lindner after observing the vehicle following another vehicle at an unsafe distance. Upon stopping the vehicle, the Deputy observed signs and symptoms of impairment consistent with alcohol. The Deputy conducted an investigation for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and arrested Lindner after finding that he was impaired to a noticeable and perceptible degree. Lindner was transported to the Coos Bay Police Department where he provided a breath sample which showed him to have a Blood Alcohol Content of .18%, over two times the limit of .08%. Lindner was cited for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Following Too Closely. Lindner will be referred to the Coos County District Attorney’s Office for Recklessly Endangering Another, a passenger in the vehicle. Lindner was released to a sober, responsible party.
