Oregon’s commercial Dungeness Crab season runs from the first part of December to mid August. Fishermen landed about 14.4 million pounds this year according to the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission in Coos Bay. That’s worth about $50 million to the fleet that fishes from Astoria to Brookings. However, the overall catch is about 5.5 million pounds short of the yearly average.
