On April 19, 2017, shortly after 5:00pm, law enforcement responded to an address on Placer Road in Sunny Valley for a reported shooting. When law enforcement arrived they located one deceased male, believed the incident was suspicious in nature and the Josephine County (MCRT) Major Crime Response Team was activated. When detectives arrived on scene they located 54 year old, Randy Allen HUMMEL of Sunny Valley, deceased as the result of a gunshot wound. The Oregon State Police Forensic personnel responded to assist with the investigation. The detectives quickly identified a suspect, 40 year old Amber Ellen SELLS of Sunny Valley. SELLS was subsequently arrested and lodged in the Josephine County Jail on the charge of Murder after consultation with the Josephine County District Attorney’s office.
