The 2018 4A Girls Far West League Basketball Championship comes down to Friday night when Brookings-Harbor visits Marshfield in the final game of the regular season. The Lady Pirates have a one-game lead over the Bruins following games Tuesday. Marshfield won at Douglas 43-24, while Brookings-Harbor held off visiting South Umpqua 57-41. Also, Siuslaw won at North Bend 37-31. While the Bruins (8-1) & Lady Pirates (9-0) tangle in Coos Bay, Douglas has third (5-4) and will host North Bend (1-8). Fourth place South Umpqua (3-6) hosts Siuslaw (1-8) in Tri City.

Marshfield’s boys clinched the 2018 4A Far West League Basketball Title Tuesday night with a 73-60 win at Douglas in Winston. With one game remaining in the regular season, the Pirates are 9-0 with a three-game lead over North Bend and Brookings-Harbor, the two teams tied for second with 6-3 records. Siuslaw and Douglas are knotted at fourth with 3-6 records. On Tuesday night, North Bend lost at home to Siuslaw 58-55, and Brookings-Harbor won at home 53-45 over South Umpqua. Friday night, Marshfield hosts Brookings-Harbor, North Bend is at Douglas and Siuslaw travels to South Umpqua.
