Siuslaw defeated Douglas 3-1 in a 4A Far West League volleyball playoff match Tuesday night at North Bend to determine the No. 1 & No. 2 seeds for the upcoming playoffs.  The two teams finished the regular season as co-champions.  The Vikings will get the bye from the “Play-In” round while Douglas and third place North Bend will have matches.  According to the OSAA website, North Bend will play at Sutherlin and Douglas will host Sweet Home.

North Bend and Brookings-Harbor both won their boy’s soccer matches Tuesday and remained tied for first place with one match to go Thursday.  Marshfield beat visiting Douglas 2-1.  The Bulldogs prevailed at Coquille 6-0, and the Bruins won at So. Umpqua 11-0.  On Thursday, Brookings-Harbor (8-0-1) is at North Bend (8-0-1), Coquille (3-6) at Douglas (4-5) and So. Umpqua (0-9) at Marshfield (3-6).  In girls’ soccer, North Bend won at Coquille 10-0, Brookings-Harbor won at So. Umpqua 5-0, and Marshfield beat visiting Douglas 1-0.  On Thursday, Brookings-Harbor (9-0) goes to North Bend (8-1), Coquille (2-7) visits Douglas (1-7-1) and So. Umpqua (4-5) is at Marshfield (2-6-1).
