Members of the Oregon National Guard’s 102nd Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) – Civil Support Team (CST) and Oregon Department of Corrections are scheduled to participate in a training exercise on Wednesday, November 14, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at 200 North Ross in Coos Bay, Oregon. The training exercise will enhance incident response capabilities by furthering interoperability and coordination between agencies. The 102nd CST, based in Salem, can be rapidly mobilized to an incident anywhere in Oregon to assist civil authorities with early-detection and analysis capabilities of a chemical, biological or nuclear incident. The goal is to minimize the impact on civilian populations and facilitate requests for follow-on emergency and military support by civil authorities.
