“There is no indication of foul play and it appears that the death is the result of natural causes.”  That’s Coos Co. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier after an inmate was found deceased in the county jail at Coquille Wednesday night, Nov. 15.  Still, because the death was inside the county jail, Frasier asked the Oregon State Police to respond and take charge of the investigation.  Dead is 62-year old Jimmie Rodgers Putman who was found unresponsive in his call about 8 p.m.  The deceased was described as a transient, but did list Brookings as a place of residency.  He had pled guilty on Tuesday, Nov. 14 to DUII, Recklessly Endangering and Failure to Appear in the First Degree.  The DUII was his fourth.  He was sentenced to serve 50 days in jail.
