News release from Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On May 22, 2016, at approximately 1627 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress at 63357 Terramar Rd., Coos Bay, Coos County, OR. The 911 call was made by one of the suspects, who was instructed to call and report himself to the police by the armed homeowner who had caught them in the act. As a result of the investigation, all three 14-year-old male juvenile suspects were detained for variations of the following charges: ORS 164.215 – Burglary II, ORS 164.255 – Criminal Trespass I, ORS 164.354 – Criminal Mischief II, ORS 164.043 – Theft III, and ORS 475.864 – PCS Marijuana – Less Than One Ounce. All three juvenile male suspects were transported to the Coos County Juvenile Department without incident, where they were transferred into Juvenile Department Custody on their way to the Douglas County Juvenile Detention Facility. The 8-year-old little step-sister of one of the male juvenile suspects, whom he was supposed to be baby-sitting, was transported to her parents’ residence and released into their custody.
