Reel in your tickets now! Tickets are now on sale for the Bay Area Kiwanis Club’s 58th Wave Young Salmon Barbecue. This public event will be held on Sunday, August 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bastendorff Beach County Park. Tickets are $15 for adults; $7 for children under 10; and a new “family” ticket for $50. The family ticket applies to parents and children 18 and under living in same household. The menu includes barbecued salmon steaks, coleslaw, baked potatoes, rolls, coffee and ice cream. Tickets may be purchased from any Bay Area Kiwanian or call Jeff Swank at 541.217.5678 or Beth Gipson at 541.756.3984. Tickets are also available at Allstate Insurance Agency, 1609 N. Bayshore Dr. in Coos Bay and Gipson Farmers Insurance Agency, 1899 Virginia Ave. in North Bend. The club meets at noon on Thursdays at Kozy Kitchen II in Coos Bay. Proceeds from this event support local Kiwanis Projects. These projects include an annual shoe giveaway for disadvantaged kids, scholarships for local high school graduates, North Bend and Marshfield Key Clubs, sponsorship of a team at the OSAA annual Boys and Girls 3A Championship Basketball Tournament and many other ventures that benefit youth in our
community. This major fundraiser is a great opportunity to enjoy the beach and share a great meal while supporting a worthy cause.
