A 49-year old logger was killed Thursday, June 19, when a falling tree hit him in the Oregon Coast Range in rural Lane County. Richard Gray died at the scene of the accident near Hwy. 36, south of Alsea. Search and Rescue personnel had to hike down about 2,000 feet into a drainage to recover Gray’s body.
