Two unrelated traffic stops by Oregon State Police (OSP) on Monday in Douglas County is leading to charges against two people following the seizure of a total of more than 13 pounds of marijuana. On October 20, 2014 at approximately 6:23 p.m., an OSP sergeant stopped a 1998 Ford Escort displaying California license plates northbound on Interstate 5 near milepost 119 for a speed violation. The vehicle was occupied by a 21-year old female driver and the passenger identified as JORDAN J. PERRY, age 48, from Hollywood, California. Subsequent investigation with the assistance of an OSP drug detection canine led to the discovery of over 4 pounds of marijuana in the car’s trunk. Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $10,000. PERRY was taken into custody and later cited and released to appear in Douglas County Circuit Court for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana. The driver was not arrested or cited. The second traffic stop occurred at approximately 10:44 p.m. on Interstate 5 northbound near milepost 120 when an OSP trooper stopped a Ford Ranger pickup displaying Minnesota license plates. The pickup’s driver was identified as TERESA ANN LEMONS, age 45, from Rogers. Minnesota. Subsequent investigation led the trooper to discover approximately 9.5 pounds of marijuana concealed in the pickup. Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $20,000. LEMONS was later cited and released to appear in Douglas County Circuit Court for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana.
