Visiting first-place Marshfield (6-0, 14-2) opened the second-half of the 4A Far West League volleyball season with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-22) straight sets 3-0 win over Siuslaw in Florence Thursday night dropping the Vikings (4-2, 6-10) into a second-place tie with Douglas. Junior Hailee Woolsey led a balanced attack with a team-high seven-kills. Abby Clough and Shaylynn Jensen followed with five kills apiece. In other FWL matches, North Bend (2-4, 3-11) won at South Umpqua (2-4, 6-7) 3-1 (15-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-17). Douglas (4-2, 7-6) won at Brookings-Harbor (0-6, 0-12) 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 25-16).

Lions VB Tourney
The annual Coos Bay Lions Club Volleyball Tournament for 7th & 8th grade teams will take place Friday and Saturday at Marshfield High School.
