Unbeaten Marshfield took another step towards a 4A Far West League volleyball crown Tuesday night with a straight set win over visiting South Umpqua (25-8, 25-16, 25-17). Junior Hailee Woolsey led the Lady Pirates with 16 kills. Marshfield also won the JV match (22-25, 25-12, 15-5). In other FWL matches, second place Siuslaw won at Douglas 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-11, 27-25), and North Bend beat visiting Brookings-Harbor 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-18). On Thursday, North Bend (3-4, 4-11) visits Marshfield (7-0, 15-2), Brookings-Harbor (0-7, 0-14) is at Siuslaw (5-2, 7-10) and Douglas (4-3, 7-8) plays at South Umpqua (2-5, 6-9).

North Bend’s boys beat visiting Coquille 15-0 in Far West League play Tuesday night at Vic Adams Field. The Bulldog girls also won, 13-0 over Coquille.
