Marshfield’s girls advanced to the OSAA 4A Basketball Tournament at Forest Grove March 8-10 with a First Round playoff win at home Friday night 56-19 over Yamhill-Carlton. The Lady Pirates (24-2) will play Thursday, 1:30 p.m., against No. 7 Valley Catholic (20-6), the No. 2 team out of the Cowapa League.

Marshfield boys downed visiting Baker 61-44 in an OSAA 4A First Round basketball playoff game at Coos Bay Saturday. The Pirates game with the Bulldogs was sandwiched in between the 3A Tournament’s trophy day at Marshfield’s Pirate Palace. The win propels the Pirates (19-6) into the State Tourney at Forest Grove March 8-10 where they will meet Oregon West Conference champion Newport (17-8) on Thursday, 6:30 p.m.
