Marshfield’s softball team split a non-conference twin-bill Friday at Coos Head Field in Coos Bay against visiting Mazama of Klamath Falls. It was the second and third games of the season for the Lady Pirates and a season-opener for the Vikings. Marshfield took the opener 6-5 in nine innings, but dropped the second game 14-6. The Lady Pirates (1-2) will host Phoenix on Friday, March 22 for a doubleheader beginning at 3 & 5 p.m.
