On August 5, 2018 at approximately 2:45 PM Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle (motorcycle) crash on Hwy 224 near milepost 43. Investigation reveals that a 2017 KTM Motorcycle, being operated by Casey SMITH, age 51 of Oregon City, was travelling on Hwy 224 when for unknown reasons he left the roadway on a left hand curve and travelled into the ditch. SMITH suffered fatal injuries in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
