News release from North Bend Police Chief Robert F. Kappelman regarding the termination of Jon Bohanan. “First and foremost, the North Bend Police Department and its officers have dedicated many years to the public safety of the citizens of North Bend. Jon Bohanan was terminated for just cause from the position of police officer on June 25, 2015 after a lengthy internal investigation. He has an appeals process available to him as stipulated in his union contract, and Mr. Bohanan has chosen to exercise that process. That legal matter is currently underway and therefore this department is not able to comment. All of our employees are owed the right of confidentiality in personnel matters. This department and its chief intend to honor the integrity of that confidential process.”
