The North Bend High School Robotics Team made its debut at the North Bend Municipal Pool, Saturday, April 25, durng the Oregon Regional MATE ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) competition. Mark Deane’s ROV team, “Lightning Sharks,” assembled a submarine from scratch using William Ramsey’s design, under the supervision of safety officer, Andrew Conner. ROV pilot Thomas Mitchell put the ROV to the test in a series of underwater obstacles and the team took 3rd place in the SCOUT category. NBHS robotics’ NAVIGATOR team (Oceanus) also competed at the event.
