The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will discuss the commercial black and blue rockfish and nearshore fisheries at three public meetings in Pacific City, Gold Beach, and Port Orford in mid-October. Geared primarily to commercial fishers with black and blue rockfish and nearshore permits, the agenda for the meetings will include: Review of the 2015 season to date; Process and options for setting 2016 regulations; Input from industry and others interested in 2016 commercial nearshore fishery state management. Pacific Fishery Management Council update including stock assessment results for 2017–18 specifications for: black rockfish; China rockfish; Kelp greenling. All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held: Tuesday, Oct. 13, Kiwanda Community Center, 34600 Cape Kiwanda Drive, Pacific City; Wednesday, Oct. 14, Pacific Reef Resort, 29362 Ellensburg Hwy 101, Gold Beach; Thursday, Oct. 15, Port Orford Library, 1421 Oregon St., Port Orford.
