The law enforcement officers involved in a shooting in Bandon Nov. 3, 2018 will not face any charges as Coos Co. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, following a lengthy review of the investigation, announced Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 “that there will be no criminal charges filed against any of the officers who were involved in the officer shooting,” that resulted in the death of Robert Charles Foster.  Foster was armed with a shotgun and fired it in the direction of officers in a field behind the Faith Baptist Church on the south end of Bandon.  They returned fire striking Foster multiple times.  He died at the scene.  Frasier determined Foster “acted in such a manner that he in essence committed ‘suicide by cop.’”
